Terms

Free check terms of use

Short, because the check is free and reads only public pages.

Last updated: 5 November 2026

1. Who provides it

The free check is provided by ProudSite, a trading name of EARTHBOOKINGS LTD., a company registered in England and Wales, company number 17305953, registered office 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ. Email hello@proudsite.co.uk.

2. What it does

The check fetches only the public pages of the website you enter, the way any visitor’s browser could, and asks Google’s PageSpeed Insights and Chrome UX Report about it. It does not log in, submit forms or read anything that is not public. How the check works describes every check and its sources.

3. Which sites to check

Please check sites you own or are authorised to check, or public sites for comparison. The check reads only public pages, so this is a courtesy we ask of you.

4. Acceptable use

Use the check for lawful purposes only. Do not use it to send large numbers of requests to any website, to try to get around its limits, or to interfere with how it runs. We limit how many checks one connection and one website can have each day, and we may refuse checks that look like misuse.

5. What the results are

Results are for information. The score is our own method, not Google’s, and it describes what the check could see on the day it ran. It is not a ranking, a forecast or advice for your particular circumstances.

6. Availability

The check is free. We try to keep it working, but we do not promise that it will always be available, or that every part of every check will run. When a part cannot run, the result says so.

7. Our responsibility to you

7.1 Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.

7.2 If you use the check for your business: because the check is free and for information only, we are not liable for any loss of profits, revenue, business or goodwill, or for any indirect loss.

7.3 Also for business users, and separately from 7.2: our total liability to you for the check is limited to twenty pounds.

7.4 If you use the check as a consumer: we are responsible for loss you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our failing to use reasonable care and skill in providing the check. We are not responsible for loss that was not foreseeable.

8. Your data

Our privacy notice explains what we keep from a check, why, and for how long.

9. Law and courts

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and its courts have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, you may bring proceedings in the courts of the part of the UK where you live.
